Simple Sausage & Peppers is an easy and delicious meal your family will love! Drizzle everything with a little olive oil, a lot of Italian seasoning, and a good amount of garlic and pop it all in the oven on a big roasting pan. You’ll have a delicious dinner on the table in about 40 minutes!Â
Sometimes a recipe is passed along to you that just makes life easier. A one-pan meal that requires no dicing, standing over the hot stove, or complicated instructions. That is the case with this recipe for Simple Sausage & Peppers. It’s a full meal made on one baking sheet and ready in about 40 minutes. That’s my kind of recipe!
*Use a grill pan and throw all of this on the grill for a great tailgate, cook-out, or summer meal!
Here’s how to make Simple Sausage & Peppers:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice red, green, and yellow peppers into thick slices.
- Add pepper slices to a baking sheet. Add sausages (leave the casings on) to the pan.  Drizzle a few rounds of olive oil over the sausages & peppers. Add 1 1/2 tbsp of minced garlic to the pan and 2 tbsp of Italian seasoning. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Using your hands, mix everything well so the seasonings and garlic are dispersed over all of the peppers and sausages.
- Roast in the oven 30-40 minutes or until the peppers & sausages are browned.
- Serve with sub rolls or on it’s own for a lower carb option.
Simple Sausage & Peppers
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs Italian sausages (casings still on)
- 2 red bell peppers, sliced
- 2 green bell peppers, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice the peppers into strips. Slice onion into thick slices. Add them to the baking sheet. Add the sausages on top of the peppers. You can cut the sausages into large chunks, in half, or leave them whole.
- Drizzle 2 tbsp of olive oil over the top of the sausages & peppers. Sprinkle the minced garlic and Italian seasoning on top. Using your hands, mix everything together until it is all well-coated with oil and seasonings. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place pan in the oven and cook for 30-40 minutes or until the peppers and sausages have browned nicely.
