Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ham and Cheese Sliders – an upgraded version of a basic ham and cheese sandwich!  These bite size sliders are a favorite in our house for tailgates and parties.  They are also perfect in a kids lunchbox!

I don’t know about you but we are QUICKLY running out of interesting lunch ideas during this whole quarantine/remote learning period.  As much as I wish I could make the girls a peanut butter and jelly every day, they are beginning to find it boring (shocking, I know!).

My mom used to make these Ham and Cheese Sliders for football games or Christmas parties as we were growing up and they were always a favorite of mine!  Delicious bite size sandwiches made with ham, swiss cheese, and a delicious butter, dijon, and onion sauce that is good on just about anything.

When I was thinking of new and interesting lunch ideas for the girls, these sliders came to mind.   Whether your kids are going to school face to face or remote learning at home, lunch is still expected (UGH!!). These sliders are perfect for a lunchbox or an at-home meal.

How to make Ham and Cheese Sliders:

  • I love to use a tray of King’s Hawaiian slider rolls for these ham and cheese sliders.  Unfold the tray and cut the entire rectangle of rolls in half. hawaiian rolls 6) Bake for 15-20 minutes or until all the cheese has melted and the tops are toasted.
  • Next, melt 1/2 stick of butter in a small bowl.  Once it is melted, add 2-3 tbsp of dijon mustard, 1/4 cup of minced onion, and 1 tsp of poppyseeds to the melted butter.  The mixture should be fairly thick. sauce
