BBQ Shrimp – New Orleans Style

To be candid – we really are not big shrimp eaters. However, our good pal, Robert (aka “Mr. Wobuht” as the kids call him), introduced us to a bbq recipe that is truly outstanding. This recipe is modeled after the timeless and famous barbecue shrimp from  Manale’s Restaurant in New Orleans. The “barbecue” style of this shrimp is not one of your traditional ketchup, brown sugar, honey, etc style of BBQ sauce. This one is a pure bliss: a base of olive oil and butter, tabasco, worcestershire (we love Lea and Perrins) a little lemon juice and some salt and pepper. Don’t forget the bread to mop up the goodness!

Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Bbq Shrimp - New Orleans Style

Georgia Girl Kitchen
The dish is called BBQ Shrimp but there is no bbq sauce to be found in this recipe.  Instead its peppery shrimp baked in a buttery sauce and served with crusty French bread! The perfect summer beach meal! This recipe comes from an old restaurant in New Orleans that was famous for their BBQ shrimp.
