The dish is called BBQ Shrimp but there is no bbq sauce to be found in this recipe. Instead its peppery shrimp baked in a buttery sauce and served with crusty French bread! The perfect summer beach meal! This recipe comes from an old restaurant in New Orleans that was famous for their BBQ shrimp.
Place whole shrimp in a single layer in a large casserole dish.
Drizzle olive oil over the shrimp and add LOTS of black pepper (more than you think is enough). Salt generously.
Squeeze 2 halves of lemon over the shrimp. Add Lea & Perrins and Tabasco (optional - if using, use as much as you like based on how spicy you want the shrimp to be).
Cut up the butter and place on top of shrimp.
Broil shrimp for 15-20 minutes or until shrimp are cooked.
Serve with crusty French bread and soak up all of the delicious sauce!
