Soy Glazed Salmon is my family’s favorite way to cook salmon! With just 3 ingredients – soy sauce, brown sugar, and pepper – and about 20 minutes, this recipe is a perfect, quick, weeknight dinner!
My favorite recipes are the ones that only call for a few staple ingredients and can be ready in less than 30 minutes. There is a time and a place for the long, more complicated recipes – and I love making those dishes when I’m not in a hurry or trying to get kids to different activities during the week. For those busy days, I need quick & easy but still delicious!
This Soy Glazed Salmon checks all the boxes for a quick and delicious dinner! After eating this at a friend’s house during college, this recipe became one of my favorites! My friends called it “fancy food” and I think it was the first thing I ever cooked for my own parents. Even all these (many) years later, I’m still making this simple, delicious recipe! Using only 3 ingredients (ok – 4 counting the fish), you’ll have a beautiful, sophisticated dinner on the table in less than 30 minutes.
Here’s how to make Soy Glazed Salmon:
- You can use fresh (my preference) or frozen salmon with or without the skin. Before you begin, rinse the fish and pat it dry.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 3-4 tbsp of soy sauce, and a tsp of ground black pepper. You want the mixture to be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. You can add a little more or less soy sauce as needed for this consistency.
- Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with a little non-stick spray. Place the salmon pieces on the foil (skin side down if you are using salmon with skin). Spoon the soy sauce mixture over the salmon. Sprinkle with a little salt and a little extra pepper.
- Cook at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes, making sure not to overcook. The salmon is done when it becomes flaky or separates easily with a fork.
Here is another delicious fish recipe:
