This Chicken & Broccoli Braid is an older recipe from Pampered Chef. We loved it so much that we switched a few things around to make it one of our family's favorite meals!
If you're cooking the chicken, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Drizzle both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and pepper and cook for 20-25 minutes or until no longer pink.
Dice the chicken and add it to a large bowl. Add the broccoli, shredded cheese, mayonnaise, and some salt & pepper. Mix well.
Tear a large piece of aluminum foil or parchment paper. If using foil, spray it with non-stick spray. Roll out each of the crescent rolls on top of the foil/parchment and lay them next to each other with the longer sides touching. Pinch together all the seams to make a larger rectangle. See picture.
Spoon the chicken and broccoli mixture down the center of the dough. Use all of the mixture (it will seem like a lot).
Using a butter knife, cut lines from center out to ends of each side of the braid (see picture). Carefully "braid" the dough over the chicken/broccoli mixture, alternating sides as you go.
Pick up the braid along with the foil/parchment and place it on a baking sheet. Brush the top of the braid with melted butter.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until top of braid is browned.
