Heat a pot over medium/high heat. Add chopped bacon and let it cook until browned and crispy.
Once the bacon is crispy, carefully add the beans to the hot bacon grease. I use two cans of beans that are drained and 2 with the liquid. You want the the liquid to just cover the beans. If using fresh beans, snap them down to a smaller size and then cover with water.
Add 1-2 tbsp of butter and salt and pepper to taste.
Let the beans cook for 20-25 minutes.
