Ingredients

  • 2 slices of your favorite sandwich bread
  • 1/2 apple, sliced thin
  • 4 oz Brie cheese, sliced to medium thickness
  • 2 tbsp fig jam or preserves
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Using your favorite bread, spread a thin layer of the fig jam or preserves on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Slice the cheese into medium thickness slices and place on top of one slice of bread, on top of the fig jam.
  • Cut the apples into thin slices and add on top of the Brie. Sprinkle with salt & pepper.  Top with the remaining piece of bread.
  •  Heat a skillet over medium/high heat.  Add a pat of butter to the pan.  Once the butter has melted, add the sandwich to the pan.  Cover the pan and cook for about 1-2 minutes, making sure not to burn the sandwich.
  • Once one side has browned, add another pat of butter to the pan and flip the sandwich over and cook on the other side, covering again so the cheese melts. When the cheese has melted and the sandwich is toasted, remove from the pan and cut in half.
